Lavken Yarns

LAVKEN YARNS - 50g

This fair trade yarn has been produced by Mapuche artisans from Southern Chile. The yarn has been spun from the wool of the sheep most commonly reared by smallholders in this part of Southern Chile; typically Romney Marsh or Suffolk. Working at home, women spin on an 'huso' or drop spindle. They then dye the yarn using plants and minerals collected locally. The yarn has been spun as singles with a  high twist, making it ideal for all kinds of weaving.
